A new, locally owned electronics business in Oak Ridge

Why we started

East Tennessee E-Waste is a new business based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It is owner-operated: when you request a pickup, you are dealing with the person who does the work.

The idea is simple. Plenty of people and small organizations have old computers and electronics sitting around and no convenient local way to deal with them. We want to be that option — you ask, we pick up.

How we work

• Reuse before recycling. Equipment is inspected and tested. Usable computers and components may be refurbished and resold.
• Parts before scrap. From equipment that doesn't work, we recover useful parts first.
• Hands-on sorting. What remains is dismantled by hand and separated into materials such as steel, aluminum, copper, insulated wire and circuit boards, for downstream recyclers.
• Straightforward about limits. We're small and new, so we say clearly what we accept, what we don't, and what services we don't offer yet.

Building it carefully

We're building the business responsibly from the ground up rather than promising more than we can deliver. As services grow, this site will be updated to describe only what we actually do.
